How to Create and Link an Echo360 Assignment

Navigate to your course in Canvas. Click "Assignments" and add an "Assignment."

Create your assignment, and for submission type, be sure to click this dropdown and choose "External Tool."

Click "Find."

Click "Echo360 - Course." Then click "select."

Click "Save & Publish" your assignment.

Click "Load Echo Testing 3 in a new window."

If this pops up, choose your section.

Click "Create Echo360 Section."

Click "Link to existing section home page."

Click "Continue."

Students MUST click on the assignment at least once for you to link what they've viewed to the assignment. This mut happen before you export any data.

Navigate to the Canvas course from which you wish to export polling questions grades. Click "Echo360."

Click "Analytics."

Click "LMS Gradebook."

Find the assignment name that you created. This is the one that you will use for the next steps.

Next to that assignment, chose the option you wish to export from the drop-down menu.

**Tip!** # **Engagement-**-is the same as the **Weighted Engagement** shown in the Students tab of the Analytics page. It is exported as a percentage. **Activity participation/score-**-is the same as that shown in the Students tab of the Analytics page for any given class. It is exported as a percentage. **Attendance-**-This is a binary statistic, meaning "yes they attended this class" or "no they didn't". Meaning it will be either 0% or 100% for each student, for each class. For dated classes, the metric does not track how long they were in the classroom or whether they viewed any of the materials, just that they entered during class time. For non-dated classes, viewing any portion of the materials or entering a question or responding to an activity slide counts as attendance.

Click the arrow (export to LMS). You'll have to hover your mouse over that area to see the arrow.

You'll get this warning, but click "OK." If you are updating the scores, you'll need to click it to overwrite the original scores.

Choose the "classes" (lessons) that you want to export. These would be the "classes/lessons" that you want to measure in the assignment you created.

Click "Export"

To see the grades in your gradebook, click "Grades."

In your gradebook, you should be able to see the updated grades in the assignment column for the assignment you created.
