How to Create CBT Exam Schedule

Log into your school portal as an admin or a teacher

Click "e-Class"

Click "CBT Schedules"

Click "New Exam Schedule" to create a new exam schedule

Select Academic Session of the exam

Select the Term of the exam

Provide a title for the exam (e.g Mid Term Test)

Select Classes Involved.\ \ If this exam schedule is for a school-wide, then select all the classes in the school.

Select Schedule Visibility to students (e.g Yes, Not Yet, No)

Select Examination Mode (e.g Computer Based (CBT))

Select a Supervisor to be in charge for the Exam Supervision.

Select Start Date of the exam schedule

Click "Save"

How to Add Exam Subjects to the Schedule

Click "Add Subject to Schedule"

Select a Class

Select a Class Arm

Select the Subjects

Select Duration for each single subject's exam session

Click "Add Subject"

How to assign questions to a subject's CBT exam schedule

Click the actions button next to the subject schedule in the exam schedule list (as shown in this Image).

Click "Manage CBT"

In the next page, ensure to switch to the "Questions" tab, and then click "Add Questions"

Select the desired questions and they will be assigned automatically to the subject's exam.\ \ To remove/un-assign a question, simply uncheck/unselect the question's checkbox.

Click "Done" when you are done.

How to Set CBT Rules and Instructions

Click on the "Rules & Instructions" Tab

Select a pre-start instruction set if you have any instructions set you want the students to ready through before starting the exam.

If you want to add a new instruction set, click "Add New" and proceed to add new instruction

Give your Instruction a title and then add your instruction.

Click "Save"

Set the mode/location of the exam.\ \ Set the "Online Mode" option to: \ "Enabled" to Allow the CBT to be taken on the online portal from anywhere\ or \ "Disabled" for the CBT to be taken only at the school's CBT Center, in a controlled/supervised environment - using the offline CBT system.

Enable or Disable "Questions Shuffle Mode".\ \ When enabled, the order of questions are randomized from student to student.\ E.g. Student-1's Question No. 1 may appear to Student-2 as Question No. 9, etc.

Enable or Disable "Options Shuffle Mode".\ \ When enabled, the order of a question's options are randomized from student to student. \ E.g. Student-1's Option-A of a particular question may appear to Student-2 as Option-D

Select the number of attempt allowed.\ \ This determines how many times a student can partake in the exam (from start-to-submission). \ Allowing one (1) attempt means that a student can start the exam, take the exam for the specified exam duration, and then submit.\ \ Allowing more than one attempt means that a student can return to take the exam again (afresh) even after having taken it earlier and submitted.

The **"Navigate Away from Exam Screen"** rule helps to keep/restrict students to only the exam screen - without them having the freedom to open other tabs or windows on the same computer/device during the exam.\ \ If you want to pardon student from navigating away from the Exam you can select how many times that is pardonable. A student's exam will be auto-submitted if they attempt to switch away from the exam screen up to the number of times specified.\ \ Setting this option to zero (0) will disable this rule and allow the students to switch tabs & windows during the exam without any consequences.

Choose weather to enable or disable candidates from seeing their score or exam summary after submission

Choose weather to enable or disable candidates from seeing the correct answers (corrections) after submission.\ \ This is not recommended for real exams as this could lead to leakage of answers, especially in situations where students take exams in batches. \ The first batch to take the exam could access the answers after their submission, and reveal them to the next batch.

Select to enable or disable onscreen Basic Calculator

Select to enable or disable onscreen Scientific Calculator

Optionally, set the Marking Scheme Total Score which you want the system to use as the maximum obtainable score.\ \ This may be useful in situations where the total marks from all the questions assigned to the exam does not give you the desired max. obtainable score. E.g. if your total marks as per the assigned questions is, say, 87 marks, you may use this to tell the system to round it up to 100marks. The system will accurately handle the scores rescaling (up or down, as the case may be).

Ensure to click "Save Rules" to save the rules, otherwise the rules set may not apply (if not saved).

How to Open CBT Exam for Students to Access

To start an Exam (CBT) and open it for the students to access and partake in, click the "Play" Icon.

Click "Yes. Switch!" and the exam will be opened for students to access.

How to Pause an Ongoing CBT Exam

Click the "Pause" icon

Click "Yes. Switch!" and the ongoing exam will be paused.

How to Stop an Ongoing CBT Exam

Click on the "Stop" icon

Click "Yes. Switch!" and the exam will be stopped.
