How to De-duplicate and Merge Contacts or Accounts in Salesforce

Click "Duplicate Record Sets"

Choose the matching rule you want to use. If you are using Contacts, select the Contact set, if you are using Accounts, select the Accounts set.

Click "Related"

Click "New"

Click "Pick an object"

Click "Contacts"

Click the "Record*" field.

Find all of your duplicates via search and add them.

Click "Save & New"

Click "Show one more action"

Click "Compare and Merge"

Select all duplicate records you want to merge together. You can only do up to 3 at a time so if you have more than 3 you may have to repeat these steps.

Choose the "winning" data for each field.
