How to Edit Unit Guides
This guide shows how to access and edit Unit Guides using the Unit Guide Generated.

Navigate to the [**Staff Portal -** https://vustaff.sharepoint.com/](https://vustaff.sharepoint.com/)

Select "**Apps Dashboard**"

Under the tab **Learning & Teaching**, Select [**VU Unit Guide Generator**](https://unitguides.vu.edu.au/caslogin).

Click the "**Unit code**" field, and enter a unit code.

Optionally, select **additional filters** such as **Year**, **Semester** and **Status**.

Click "**Filter**".

Click "**Edit**" in the row corresponding to the guide you wish to edit.

If required, you can import (non-CAMS) updates from a previous semester. \ To do so, click the "**Copy from previous teaching period**:" field.

Enter details in the format: **<Year> Semester <Teaching Period>**, e.g., **2024 Semester H2B1**. Then select the required offering from the dropdown list.

Click "**Import**".

If a text field is **grey** (e.g., Description), it is not editable.

If a text field is **white** (e.g., the Assessment criteria), you can click to enter and add information.
**Unit Feedback *(optional)* -** Enter examples of actions taken recently to improve this unit, that were based on or influenced by student or other feedback. Include a brief summary of actions taken in the last 1 – 3 years to improve this unit.

Continue editing in the required fields.

When complete, scroll to the bottom of the page and select "**Save**".

You can now view your guide, and if required, print or save it as a PDF.

Click "**Unit Guides**", to return to the unit guide home page.\ \ Your guide will now be updated, ready for publishing the week before the block commences!
**Publish a unit guide *(optional)* -** Guides will be published one week before class begins, however, if required, you may publish the unit guide early.

Click the "**Unit code**" field, and enter required unit code and additional filters.

Then click "**Filter**" or press Enter.

Click the checkbox to select the required guide.
