How to Purchase and Redeem Digital Textbooks Purchased at CSU Bookstore

Learn how to purchase an eBook in person at the CSU Bookstore and redeem it using your VitalSource account. This guide demonstrates the process from selecting an eBook card in the store to locating the redemption code on your receipt and accessing your eBook on VitalSource. These instructions were created using a desktop computer to demonstrate the VitalSource redemption process. The process is similar on a smartphone or tablet, although the appearance and location of some options may differ.

Purchase Your eBook at the CSU Bookstore

If a title is available as an eBook, you will see an eBook card on the shelf. Pick up the card for the title you wish to purchase and take it to any cash register inside the CSU Bookstore.

Purchase your eBook at the register using your CSU Student Account, credit/debit card, CSU Bookstore gift card, or cash. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also accepted.

After checkout, you will receive a receipt. Do not throw away your receipt. Your eBook redemption code is printed on the receipt, and you will need this code to access your eBook.

**Warning: Lost your receipt?** Email [**bookstore_textbook_info@mail.colostate.edu**](mailto:bookstore_textbook_info@mail.colostate.edu) with your student ID number, payment method, and date of purchase. We will send you a copy of your receipt within **48–72 hours**.

Tip: If you have not received the email, check your Spam, Junk, or All Mail folders. Your email provider may mistakenly filter the eBook activation email as spam.

Redeeming Your eBook on VitalSource

VitalSource is our platform that supplies your eBooks. The instructions below assume you already have a VitalSource account. For instructions on creating a VitalSource account, please visit [**https://col.st/t7djy**](https://col.st/t7djy)

**Note:** Your CSU NetID/eID credentials will not work on VitalSource. You can create your VitalSource account using any email address you regularly access.

eBook Redemption

After signing in, click the link marked "Redeem Code"

Enter the redemption code from your receipt into the Redeem Code box and click [[Redeem]]
