How to Record a Lecture on Zoom

After logging into Zoom with your Adelphi credentials, navigate to the "meetings" tab on the lefthand menu to find your class meeting.

Find your scheduled class and click "start".

This will direct you to open the link "zoom.us"

You will then be able to preview your audio and video, before clicking "start".

Once the meeting has started, you can navigate to the bottom toolbar and click "record".

You will have the option to record to your computer directly or to the cloud. Cloud recording is simpler, more secure, and easier to share with students.

When you begin recording, there will be a blinking red dot at the top right of your meeting until the recording is stopped.

You have to ability to pause the recording and restart it if you need a break.

Click the square "stop" button when finished, or end the meeting to automatically stop recording.

Here you will confirm the stop to your recording, and your recording will begin to process.

At the bottom righthand of your meeting, click "end".

Proceed to click "end meeting for all" to stop your meeting when your class is over.

You can access your class recording by navigating to the left-hand side of your Zoom profile, and clicking "recordings and transcripts".

Your video will show up here, and be available when it is done processing.

Once your meeting has processed, you have the ability to download the video, audio, and transcript files to your computer.

Clicking download will save each file to your computer separately.

If you are using Google Chrome, the files will appear in your downloads folder.

You can also copy a shareable link to share the recording with your students

Here you have the ability to save and copy the files separately.

By navigating to the "share" button at the top right of your screen,

you can copy the link with a password to secure your recording.
