How to Remove an Employee in Toast

Learn how to manage your staff list by archiving former employees in your Toast administrative portal. This quick guide ensures your restaurant dashboard remains organized by removing inactive personnel from your active employee database.

Navigate to [https://www.toasttab.com](https://www.toasttab.com/restaurants/admin/home?utm_content=left_rail)

Click "Employees"

Use the "Search employees" section to find the employee you wish to remove from your system. In this case we are removing "John Smith"

Once you find the employee you intend to remove click the black quare with an arrow in it under the "Actions" column. This is the "archive" button.

A pop-up will appear, click "Archive". This user is immediately removed from your system. They will not be able to clock in or access the POS with their credentials.
