How to Schedule an Inspection for Your Permit

Learn the step-by-step process for selecting specific records and booking an inspection through your online portal. This guide ensures you provide necessary details and notes to help your inspector efficiently manage your request.

Navigate to 'My Records'.

Expand the 'Fire Permits' category by clicking on the triangle. All of your fire permits should be listed in this space.

Select the record number you wish to schedule an inspection for - by clicking on the hyperlinked Record Number.

Click 'Record Info' to open the options menu.

Select 'Inspections' from the list

Click "Schedule or Request an Inspection"

Select the desired inspection type.

Click "Continue".

Select a date for the inspection on the calendar. The online system will only allow for inspections being scheduled within a two week window. Same day inspections will not be scheduled. If you wish to schedule outside of the two week window, please call 311 (when calling within the City of Rochester) or 507.328.2311 (outside of the City of Rochester).

Select the available times.

Click "Continue"

Verify location and contact information, then click 'Continue'. Please add the specific site contact information for the site contact that will be present at the time of the inspection. To do this, click "Change Site Contact".

Please include the preferred inspection time and any additional information you feel would be helpful in the optional comments box.

Click 'Finish' to finalize the scheduling process.
