How to: Set Up and Use Two-Factor Authentication

This guide takes you through the step-by-step process of setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). You can choose to secure your account by using either an authenticator app or email authentication. If you require further assistance, please contact help@equestrian.org.au

**Log In:** Log into Equestrian Australia using your EA member details\ \ ***Tip:*** See "**How to: Log in"** if you need help!

**Open your profile:**\ Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen.

Click **"Two-Factor Authentication"**

**Set up authentication** - Click **Setup**. - To use an Authenticator app, select this option. *(This is the recommended method for securing your account.)* - If you prefer to use email authentication, skip ahead to **Step 14**.

**Confirm your account** - To set up authentication, you will need to log in again. - Enter your **username (email address)** and your **EA account password**.

**Verify your account** After entering your **user name (email address)** & **password,**\ Click **Verify** to continue to the two-factor authentication setup.

**Download an authenticator app.**\ On your phone, download an authenticator app: - **iPhone users:** Go to the **App Store** - **Android users:** Go to **Google Play** **Tip:** *Google Authenticator & Microsoft Authenticator are recommended. Below will show you a guide on how to get started on **Microsoft Authenticator***

For this example, **Microsoft Authenticator** on an **Apple device** will be used. Open the app: On your phone, open the **Microsoft Authenticator app**

**Set up the authenticator app**\ When you open the app, you may be asked to: - Allow the app to access your **camera** (needed to scan the QR code). Once enabled, select "**Scan QR code"** at the bottom of the screen. This will open up your camera to then scan the EA QR code.

**Link your EA account**\ On the Equestrian Australia website, hold your phone over the QR code shown on your screen.\ This will link your EA account to your authenticator app.

**Authentication code**\ Your EA account is now successfully linked to your authenticator app. The app will display a **6-digit code** that refreshes regularly to keep your account secure. **Note:** *This code is unique to your Equestrian Australia login and cannot be used for any other account.*

**Enter your code**\ Type the **6-digit code** from your authenticator app into the Equestrian Australia website. ***Note:*** *The code refreshes every 30 seconds, so make sure you enter it before the countdown resets.* **Manual setup option**\ If you can’t scan the QR code, you can choose to manually enter a unique setup code to link your account. This option is useful if your camera isn’t working.

**Success!**\ You have now successfully set up **Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)** using an authenticator app. If you have completed these steps, you can exit this guide. If you would prefer to set up Two-Factor Authentication via **Email**, please continue to **Step 14**.

**Email Authentication: Set up via email**\ To use email authentication, link your email address to your EA account. You will receive a **verification code** by email, which you’ll need to enter into your account. Click **Setup** to proceed with this option.

**Email Authentication: Confirm your account** - To set up authentication, you will need to log in again. - Enter your **username (email address)** and your **EA account password**.

**Email Authentication: Verify your account** After entering your **user name (email address)** & **password,**\ Click **Verify** to continue to the two-factor authentication setup.

**Email Authentication: Enter your email**\ Type in your email address and click **Verify**. A **6-digit code** will be sent to your email account.

**Email Authentication: Enter your code**\ You will receive a **6-digit code** in your email inbox. Enter this code into the JustGo webpage. *Tip:* If you don’t see the email, check your **junk** or **spam** folder. Didn’t get the code? Click **Resend again in 45 seconds** to request a new one.

**Congratulations**, you have now successfully set up Two-Factor Authentication using Email Authentication.

### Logging in with Two-Factor Authentication Next time you log in, you will be prompted to authenticate using the method you chose to set up. **Tip:** To remember this device for the next 30 days, click the radio button circled in the green box shown in the picture. This will prevent you from having to authenticate each time you log in. Please only select this option if you are using a personal device. You can change this setting at any time.

### Congratulations! You have now successfully set up Two-Factor Authentication on your EA account. Your account is more secure, and you are ready to continue using your EA Account with added protection.
