How to Setup App Script for GSheet (On Form Submit)

Navigate to [https://strive.asia/flowbuilder](https://strive.asia/flowbuilder)

Ensure that you have save the flowbuilder and the flowbuilder key is shown.

Switch to your Google Sheet then click Extensions > Apps Script

By default, the App Script should looks something like this but you will need to paste the script for the webhook. You can head over to ChatGPT to prompt and get the script based on your use case.

Paste the prompt and make adjustment if needed.

Copy the App Script

Switch to App Script , delete the default app script then paste the copied script.

Ensure to replace the flowbuilder key.

Ensure the edit the field_mapping. The left side should be the GSheet column header name while the right is the variable name. The phone number variable name must be "phone".

Update the test_data. Later this function will be run to test by sending data over to webhook to see if it able to trigger as intended or there is error returned.

This is the sample updated test_data

Press [[cmd]] + [[s]] or [[ctrl]] + [[s]] to save the app script

Click "Triggers"

Click "Add Trigger"

Setup the Trigger. This is the example trigger setup for when new form is submitted. The function name could be different depending on your script. Click "Save"

It should show an authentication pop up. Click Allow to proceed.

Click "Editor"

Click "onFormSubmit" dropdown then Click "sendTestData" Kindly note that the function name could be different based on the script that you copied from ChatGPT

Click "Run" to run the sendTestData function.

You should be able to view the execution log to see if it successfully trigger or there are any error.

Switch to Strive Flow then click "Enrolment History"

If a new row is shown, it means the flowbuilder was successfully triggered.

Switch to your Google Form, fill in a sample info then click "Submit"

Switch to Google Sheet and it should have the new row added.

Switch to Strive and click "Enrolment History"

It should be able to display the new enrolment and the webhook works.

Click "Builder"

Click this icon to get the variable returned from the App Script.

Click on the tag icon then scroll down the variables. It should be able to show the variables of the GSheet. This way, you can use the variable to send follow up, confirmation message and others. You can continue setting up the flow as needed and then save it in Flowbuilder. While configuring the flow, you can keep the toggle at the top right set to **Draft** to prevent contacts from triggering it accidentally. Once everything is ready, switch the toggle to **Publish**.
