How to set up the Online Check-in

Before you setup the online check-in, you must make sure you have set up the pre-stay document. To do so, please follow the article [How to Setup a Document](https://contact.roomraccoon.com/en/support/solutions/articles/150000188773-how-to-setup-a-document).

We recommend that you explain the benefits of checking-in online to guests. Even better, if you have RaccoonUpsell enabled, you should encourage guests to use online check-in in order to facilitate the purchase of extra services that can enhance their stay. In the email, to promote this you could write, for example: - Reduce your waiting time at the reception desk - Upgrade to a better room (if available) - Book breakfast (if you have not yet) - Reserve parking

How to setup the online check-in guest details?

The online check-in is the perfect opportunity to collect all necessary guest details which weren't captured during the booking process. To select which guest details you would like to receive, please follow these steps;

Navigate to **Settings** > **Account.**

Scroll down to **Guest data.**

Now you can select which details you'd like to request during the online check-in. You can choose to hide or show the fields, as well as decide if you want the information from the main guest only or of all guests staying.

Simply click on which option has your preference.

Don't forget to save.

Setting up documents

Open the Pre-Stay Document.

The online check-in link is automatically included in the pre-stay document. If you would like to adjust the text, you can edit it in the custom content box. Important: - When you start typing in the custom content box, the pre-filled content will be removed. - If you want to keep the pre-filled content and make changes, first copy and paste it into the custom content box.

You can choose to also add the online check-in link to the pre-stay reminder document.

Accessing the Online Check-in

In the reservation, there are 2 ways to access the online check-in: 1. Through the documents 2. By using the online check-in icon

To access the online check-in either way, please open up the reservation.

To open the online check-in through the document, scroll down to the documents and select the pre-stay document. Click the paper aeroplane icon to view and send.

In the email field, the guests email will automatically be filled in, but you can edit if you would like to send it to a different address.
