How to Share Documents on OneDrive

Navigate to [portal.office.com](https://www.microsoft365.com/?from=PortalHome)

Click "OneDrive"

Share from OneDrive Folder

Click Share Button

Click the "Add a name, group, or email" field.

Type user name or email address of people you would like to share access with

Select user(s) you wish to share with

Click "Can edit"

Click the "Add a message" field and add notes when sharing (optional)

Copy link to share via teams, email, etc.

Choose sharing permissions level: Everyone, Only those who already have access, only people you choose. Choose more settings to set view, comment, edit permisisons.

Click "Apply" to save

Click "Copy link" to share with new permisions (if needed)

Click "Send" to have system e-mail to recipients

Click "Share"

Type user name or email address

Select user

Click here.

Select sharing permisions, "Can Edit" "Can review" "Can view" etc.

Add a message (optional)

Click gear to review sharing settings.

Choose sharing permisions

Click "Apply"

Click "Copy link" to share via teams, email etc.

Click "Send" to have system send email to recipients

Review Existing Sharing Access

Click "Copy Link"

Click "Settings"

Select the sharing permisions desired for current document

"People you choose" is most restrictive.

"Only people with existing access" preserves access for those who already have permission to view/ edit.
