How to Share Your Accommodation Letter

This guide shows you how to download your accommodation letter and share it with your instructors. Remember, your accommodations are only active once you share your letter - accommodations are not retroactive.

Symplicity

Log into [Accommodate](https://smcm-accommodate.symplicity.com/students/) using your SMCM email and password.

Your "Home" screen will look like this.

Select "Accommodation".

Select "Accommodation Letters"

Select "Faculty/Adviser Letter of Accommodation" for the semester you are entering.

The first time you receive accommodations, or receive new accommodations, you will be sent two letters. One will be a summary of your accommodations for your own records, the other letter will be the letter to share with faculty/advisers. Be sure to select the correct one to share!

Select "Generate PDF" - this will temporarily save your letter to your Downloads folder.

Tip! Save the letter to your device and re-title it with your name, so it's easier for your professors to locate it.

Email the letter to each professor for the classes you'd like to activate your accommodations in. Please cc our office [adasupport@smcm.edu](mailto:adasupport@smcm.edu) in the email.

Here is an email template that you can use to send your accommodation letters to instructors: Dear Professor xxxxx, I'm sharing my accommodation letter with you to activate my accommodations in your course. I would be happy to discuss with you (or work out over email) how my accommodations will look in your class. Sincerely,
