Grantforward
Google
1
Navigate to [https://www.google.com/](https://www.google.com/)
2
Click this search field.
3
Type "grantforward [[enter]]"
4
Click "GrantForward Search Engine | Search for federal grants ..."
5
Click "Sign Up"
6
Click the "Email *" field.
7
Type your @[uis.edu](http://uis.edu) email address in the email field and the institution field will change automatically to ours
8
Once you have entered your email, the Institution field will look like this. Now fill the rest of the blank fields to complete creating an account.
9
In this section select the unit that you associate with.
10
For this case, I chose "College of Liberal Arts and Sciences"
11
Select the user type that applies to you
12
Click "Create my Account"
13
Once you have completed creating your account, and verified your email it should take you to the homepage
14
Click "Search Grant Opportunities" under Grants tab in the menu
15
You can set filters for your search like filtering through deadline as I am doing here
16
This filter hides the grants that do not apply to your location and are location specific
17
Similar as above
18
Adjust this filter based on your situation and research needs
19
Click "Academic Institution" if you want to apply for the grant through UIS
20
Click the "All of the Keywords/Phrases" field.
21
Clear any default text and type the keyword you want to search for. In this example, I used the keyword "refugees [[enter]]"
22
For any search, if you do not want any filter to be applied, you can remove that by clicking on the "x" on that filter in the results page. Grantforward remembers your filter settings so that is applied to every next search unless you change it.
