How to Submit a CAPI Event in Inbox

Log a CAPI event for the contact in an Inbox conversation. Choose a configured CAPI Record and a supported Event Name, or select Custom event name to enter your own. This guide uses an unsent Purchase example. Replace the example currency, amount and source with the details of the real event before submitting.

Open Inbox in Strive, or go to <https://strive.asia/inbox>.

Select the conversation for the contact whose event you want to log. If Contact Details is collapsed, click the left-pointing arrow at the top right to expand it.

Scroll to Contact actions at the bottom of Contact Details, then click Log CAPI Event.

Select the configured CAPI Record that should receive this event. This example uses Strive CAPI. Choose the appropriate record for your organisation.

Open Event Name and choose a supported event. For a purchase, select Purchase. To enter your own name, first select Custom event name, then type the name in the field that appears.

For Purchase, Currency and Amount are required. Open the currency selector, search for the transaction currency, and choose it. This example uses MYR.

Enter the transaction value in Amount. The example value is 99.90. Use the actual amount for the event you are recording.

Select the Action Source that describes where the event originated. This example uses Business Messaging. Other choices include Chat, Website, Phone Call and Physical Store.

Optional: select the appropriate Customer Segmentation. Leave None selected if you do not need to specify a customer segment.

Review the contact, CAPI Record, Event Name and event details. When you are ready to send the real event, click Submit Event. To leave without submitting, click Cancel. The example shown here was not submitted.
