How to Use SchoolSite Locator

Tip! If your District is re-zoning for next year, use the links at the top of the site to select the correct school year.

Locate the 'Address Search' tool. This is where you can enter an address or choose to click on the map to identify the schools that are zoned for that location.

Locate the 'Boundaries' tool. This is where you can change from Elementary to Middle or High School boundaries.

Locate the 'School Directory' list and click on one of the schools.

Tip! Clicking on the name of the school will navigate you to that school's website!

Notice how the map will zoom in and navigate to that school.

Locate the 'Basemap' menu.

Select a new basemap for the map.

Locate the 'Layer's menu. Click "Visibility" icon next to Bus Stops and Bus Routes to remove those layers from the map. The layers available in your District's SchoolSite Locator site will be different.

Click "Place a point on the map" to find the schools assigned to a location.

Click on the map.

Notice the results of this area indicate the elementary, middle, and high schools assigned to this location, and it lists the approximate address based on where the map was clicked.

Tip! The results also indicate that this location is outside any walk zones, and therefore transportation to all three school is available.

Now use the 'Boundaries' tool to see where this address falls in relation to the Middle or High school boundaries and click on one of the schools in the 'School Directory' Notice how the map zooms to the location of the middle school you clicked on, and the area is a different color to represent the middle school boundaries.

Click "Reset Schools" to see all the schools in the District and clear your previous search.

Click "Default map view" to reset the map to it's original state.

Now let's try to enter a known address instead of clicking on the map. Enter "2600 N. Hand Ave." in the 'Address Search' box.

Notice that as you type, the 'Address Search' tool begins to suggest, or auto-complete, the address for you. Select the one from the list seen below.

Tip! The address search can be configured to pull from your county's parcel, address point, or street centerline databases in addition to the standard ArcGIS World Geocode Service.

Notice the results for this address indicate there are four schools that a student would matriculate through at this address (Elementary, Intermediate, Middle, and High). Due to the close location of this address to these schools, no bus transportation is available. You can use the 'Layers' menu to turn on the walk zone information to see where they are in relation to this address.
