How to View Recently modified Contacts and Audit History for a Contact. Issue 5352440.

Since 25.7.2025 there has been a bug in Dynamics which deletes email addresses from contacts in Dynamics if the contact is updated in Exchange. At Donkey Power we have created this guide to help you if the damage has been done and your system has missing e-mail addresses. Here you can see how to find the contacts and restore the correct address.

Find modified contacts

Navigate to your list of active contacts

Click here to add columns to the view

Click "Add columns"

Click the "Search" field and type email.

Click "Email" to add it to the view

Add "Modified On" to the view

Click "Close"

Click "Apply"

Click "Modified On" to change the sort order

Click "Newer to older"

You can now see the contacts with missing emails

Check the audit log to see the deleted email

Open the contact with the missing email

Click "Related"

Click "Audit History"\ It will take a while to load

Select the "Email" option to see the old value. Copy the old value and update the contact with the correct email address.

If the audit log is blank it means that audit is not turned on for contacts in your system. You should turn it on now.\ Contact your Dynamics partner or Donkey Power if you need help to do this.
