How to become a Skill Specific Training Assessor and/or a Coach Educator

To become an **Skills Specific Training Assessor** you must have been an Level 1 coach for 3 years or a Level 2 coach for 2 years. If you meet these requirements you are eligible to attend an SSTA course. This qualification allows you to assess Introductory Horse Management and Riding Modules Only

To become a **Coach Educator** you must have completed the following requirements. - Currently registered and has been for the 5 out of the last 7 years - Registered as an SSTA for at least 2 years - Attend a 2-day course, 2 webinars and complete assessment documents **Please Note** this qualification allows you to assess up to Level 1 in the discipline you are accredited e.g. Dressage as a Level 2 Coach Educator. Level 3 Coach Educators can assess Level 2 candidates in their respective discipline.

Go to your EA Profile and select Coaching Pathway

Scroll down to the end of the Level 1 Coach Pathway until you reach Skills Specific Training Assessor.

Select the "No" option. if you do not want to become an SSTA.

Select the "Yes" option if you would like to become an SSTA and follow the steps

Click on the link if you have met the criteria, this will take you to the Events and Course page where you will be able to find the next available course to book on.

The next step gives an option for those coaches who have already completed an SSTA course but their Credentials are not showing. Ignore this upload button if it is your first time applying to become an SSTA.

Once you have completed the course/training then you will need to upload your assessment checklist by clicking on the "Upload" button, you will need to waiting for your Assessment to be approved.

Your account will show the below documents, yellow for Pending awaiting approval and Green for "Active" which means it has been approved. The below is an example.

Click "Claim" to access your certificate

Once approved your certificate will turn green to "Active" and can be found on your Profile, under Credentials. The below is an example certificate.

The Coach Educator Pathway sits under the Level 2 Coach Pathway.

Select the "No" option if you do not want to become a Coach Educator.

Select the "Yes" option if you would like to continue your journey to be a Coach Educator.

You must meet all the prerequisites to become a Coach Educator and click the link to take you to the Events and Course page to book on the next available course. If non are available please email **coaching@equestrian.org.au.**

Once you have completed your course you will need to upload your Assessment Checklist to your account via the "Upload " button below, your documents will sit as "Pending" until they have been approved by the Coaching Team. Once approved they will turn green for "Active" and you will be able to access your certificate on your Profile under Credentials.

If you have not met the criteria you will not be allowed to upload your documents and you will see the following errors. An example is below.

To find your Certificates please click on your "Profile"

Click "Credentials"

You can filter using the arrows on the right hand side.
