How to bulk download assignment submissions in Canvas
You can bulk download assignment submissions in Canvas. In this guide you will learn how.

Only teachers and tutors can download assignment submissions. Tutors can only download the submissions for their tutorial group.

You can download a selection of the assignment submissions via the Assignment download tool (next slide). Or you can download all submissions via the Gradebook[**Go to step 12**](https://scribehow.com/viewer/Assignment_Download_tool__qiqwNRUkSK-4ILsHmEamEw?scrollToActionId=478dba27)

Navigate to the course homepage and click "Assignment download"

Click "Authorise". Receive an error? Check whether you are logged in via:<https://canvas.maastrichtuniversity.nl/>

Click the "Select Assignment" dropdown.

Click "Get Submission by Assignment"

This generates a list of the last 100 submissions.

Use the calendar to select a past date. All submissions made on or after this date will be downloaded.

Click "Get Submissions" to start the download.

Downloading submissions may take a while. You don't have to wait for the file to be downloaded.

Want to start another download? Go back to the previous page or to the course homepage and click "Assignment download".

A **ZIP** file is now downloaded to your computer. Double click to open it (Mac) or right-click and select "Extract All".
Download via the Gradebook (download all)

You can download all assignment submissions via the Canvas Gradebook. Click "Grades"

Click the **Options** icon (three dots)

Click "Download submissions"

The assignment submissions will be downloaded. This may take some time.

Finished? "Click here to download" to open the file.
