How to connect a safety device to an existing profile after completing initial app registration (Copy)

If you have completed your app registration and have either decided to add a safety device to your account or did not have your device with you while completing the initial registration, this tutorial will walk you through connecting a safety device to your account for the first time (for an existing profile).

Katanasafety

You must have an existing KATANA Safety profile to connect a safety device.

Disconnecting your old Device (If you had one)

Open Up the KATANA Safety App and select the battery icon. (This means you still have your device paired)

Click on "Disconnect device."

Pairing your New Device

In the KATANA Safety app, click on the Menu button (three lines).

Click on "Devices"

Click on the blue plus sign

Select the device you are connecting- a Key Fob or a KATANA Mini.

Ensure that Bluetooth and Location Services are enabled on your smartphone (you may need to look at your internal phone settings to adjust this first).

IMPORTANT: You must wake up your device first before you can start pairing. Failure to wake up your device will result in your device not being 'findable'. The instructions are in the middle of the page and describes how you wake up your KATANA Safety device (mini or FOB- instructions are different based on the device type).

When you have followed the steps to wake up your device, you can now click on "Start Pairing."

Your device may need to process a software update, which it will do automatically. Do not click on "Cancel."

If you are connecting your device outside of range from other KATANA Safety device users, your device should auto-connect to your profile. When your device is paired, click on "Done" in the top right corner.

If you are in close proximity to other KATANA Safety devices, you will be prompted to select your device from a list of options. \ \ NOTE: For KATANA Safety mini devices, your unique KATANA device ID is located on the back of your safety device. For KATANA Safety FOBs, your device ID is located on the box it originally was packaged in.

Your home screen should now display a battery icon on the top right corner indicating that a device was added to your account.
