How to convert DVDs to MP4 files with Handbreak

Take the external disc drive out of the drawer in the clear plastic cabinet.

Plug External Disc Drive into the Mac's lighting port on the back of the monitor.

Insert DVD into external disc drive. Press until it pulls DVD in.

Click to open **HandBrake** app.

Select your DVD from the "**Locations**" section of the pop-up window.

You will see two folders inside the DVD. **DO NOT** select either. Instead, click "Open"

If you are attempting to transfer files off a DVD that has copy protection, Handbreak will alert you. Some Copy-Protected DVDs can still be digitized, so select "Attempt Scan Anyway." Most Copy-Protected sources, however, will require a third-party software to unencrypt the data. We cannot provide this third-party software.

After it has finished scanning and loaded into the program, open "**Add to Queue**" dropdown menu and select "**Add All Titles To Queue**"

Click the "**Save As:**" dialogue box and type what you want to name your file as.

Click "**Start Queue**" Your files will begin transferring.

Check the progress of your transfer with the percentage tracker in the bottom left corner of the window or by clicking "Queue" in the top right.

Your new file will be on the Desktop. Click and drag the file onto your storage device.

To eject the DVD, hold down "**Crtl**" and click on the DVD icon. Select **Eject** from the drop down menu.

Disconnect the external disc drive and place it back in the drawer.

Insert your external USB/flash drive into the computer. Drag files from the desktop into the external drive to save them.
