Take the external disc drive out of the drawer in the clear plastic cabinet. Plug External Disc Drive into the Mac's lighting port on the back of the monitor.

After you insert your DVD into the External Disc Drive a window will pop up -- press the red "X" to close it.

Click to open the **Prism** App.

Click anywhere on the app to get started.

Navigate to "**Convert to File**" and select ".mp4" from the dropdown menu.

Click "**Add files**" then "Add DVD."

Select the External Disc Drive and click "Choose" to add files.

Select all files that you want to convert.

If you have multiple video files that are large, you should select one at a time to convert them individually.

If you have multiple video files that you want to merge into one file, select "Merge."

A window will popup where you can reorder the videos and then select "Merge."

If you are not merging videos, click "Convert" to process the selected files.

Wait until the file has been converted. This process takes several minutes to complete.

Once the file is converted, the popup will disappear and the mp4 file will show up on the desktop.

When you are done converting files, click the eject button on the top of the screen or drag the DVD into the trash can to eject your DVD from the drive.

Disconnect the external disc drive and place it back in the drawer.

Insert your external USB/flash drive into the computer. Drag files from the desktop into the external drive to save them.
