How to create a new query for USModel run and output a report

This example creates a new query with the Query/Action tool that selects Asset that have the major phase of oil, runs the Primary Model and reports the Assets using the Sum BFIT Portrait report. This report does the summary of the selected Assets and a one line detail of the Assets and the total.

Select a Study.

Expand the Asset hierarchic to confirm the query selects the appropriate Assets.

Select the downward pointing triangle to the right of the Run Query icon.

Select Manage.

Select the Add button to create a new query.

Select the Query Name text field and input the name. This example uses "Eval and Report BFIT Summary".

Select the + sign to the right of Query Steps for the first query step.

Name the query step. This example is only creating one step and the name is left Step 1.

By default the query selects all available Assets. Select the + sign on the right of Matching Assets to create another query to limit the Asset selection.

The Data Item Name Selection dialogue appears. Scroll through the available Data Item Aliases to find the item to query on.

This example is going to use the major phase to limit the Assets. Select Major Phase.

Tip! A user can add additional Data Item Aliases to this list.

Click the Select button.

The Edit Parameter dialogue displays. Selecting the Argument field with a left-click will display a dropdown list.

The query is concerned with the contents of this data item. Select Value.

As soon as Value is selected the Operator becomes contains. The example desires this Operator therefore the example moves to selecting the Value parameter.

If the Operator field is selected with a left-click, a dropdown list is displayed.

Select the Value parameter field.

A dropdown list of suggested text. For this example select Oil.

Select the Set button.

The Actions could be made in separate steps but this example is using just one step. Click the Select action icon.

Click the wrench to the right of the Select action now listed in the Actions in Current Step.

The options for the Select action are displayed. The example will be using the default Unique Selection. Since this the default and not needing changing, click the Cancel button. The Set button could also be selected.

Tip! The Unique Selection will be replaced by any selections in addition steps. A Additive Selection allows the query to provide a different query and selection combination and those Assets will be includes with the previous selections.

The next Action desired is to run a model. Select the Evaluate Model action icon.

Select the wrench icon for the Evaluate Model action.

The parameter input for a model evaluation is done with a replica Model Runtime Options dialogue. All the features are available. However since the query will be running the Primary Model on the Asset option form and the example doesn't need a Rollup for the report, no selection will be needed. Click Cancel.

Tip! A model run on a selected Asset will evaluate that Asset with the Primary Model. The Evaluate Branch is not needed because the query is selecting individual assets. Notice that the Reevaluate All Assets is grayed out.

Tip! A specific model can be selected on the Model Run options Advanced tab using the Primary Model Override.

Next the query will run the report. Select the Report action icon.

Select the wrench icon for Generate BIRT Report.

Expand the report folder MultipleAssetReports by clicking the triangle to the left of the folder.

Select the Sum_BFIT_Portrait.rptdesign report template.

Select the Set button on the Report parameters dialogue.

Select the Save button on the Query Action dialogue.

Click the Close button.

There are two options. Since the query that is desired was edited it became the Active Query therefore clicking the Run Query would start the process. If we again open the pop-up dialogue by selecting the triangle, the query can be selected.

Select the query just created.

The Query dialogue will document the process of selecting Assets and evaluating them with the model. The dialogue can be closed when the query is finished.

The report option to open after creation was selected by default. This is page 1 of the generated report. This is the interval summaries of the Assets with economic criteria.

This is page two of the report. These are the one line totals of each Asset and the grand total,

Going back to R3 the Asset selection can be removed. Select the Study Asset.

Right-click on the Study Asset.

Select Utility then select Clear Query Selection.

The selection of Assets by the Query has been removed.
