How to design IGUs
This guide provides a step-by-step approach to designing Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) in GlazierPro.
10 steps
Obe
1
To add an IGU to a new project, click **"New"** then **"Job / Glass"**
**Tip!** To add an IGU to an existing job/glass type project, click **"Design Glass''** then click the **"+ Glass"** button.
2
Click **"+Glass"**
3
Enter measurements for the IGU into the **''Width''** and **''Height''** fields. **Tip:** Use the **''Shape''** tab to enter dimensions for more complex shapes, or out of squares.
4
Click on **''IGU'' / "Double''**
5
Enter the overall thickness of the IGU into the **''Unit Thickness''** field.
6
Select a **''Glass Product''** and **''Glass Style''** for the *Outer* Pane.
7
By default, the *Inner* Pane’s **Glass Product** and **Glass Style** will match the *Outer* Pane. To change them, simply click and choose a different "**Glass Product"** and/or "**Glass Style"** for the *Inner* Pane.
8
Finally, click in the **Process** field to choose a spacer for your IGU. The spacer thickness is automatically calculated and limited to the difference between the Overall Unit Thickness and the sum of the inner and outer glass panes thickness. *For example: If the Unit Thickness is **3/4"** and both panes are **1/4"** glass, the spacer must be **1/4"**. (3/4 - 1/4 - 1/4 = 1/4)*
9
With your IGU makeup complete, you can use the other tabs as your normally would to customize the design — i.e. change the shape, apply edgework, add cutouts, or apply radius corners.
10
To add more IGUs, use the **''Clone''** icon. This will create a copy of the IGU with the same makeup, size, shape and processes. You can then modify the new IGU as needed.
