🎥 Open TikTok on your mobile device and record your first video

Open TikTok on your mobile Device

Click on the middle icon in the bottom row of your screen

This is the in-app video production interface. This allows you to easily film and edit your content with powerful features.

Tap the "60s" button which allows you to film a video up to 60 seconds.

Tap the red **record** button to start recording. While recording, the red **circle** will change into a red **square** to show that recording is in progress. The app will keep recording until you tap the button again to stop.

**You can film in small chunks.**\ My tip: remember your line and say as much as you can clearly and confidently. If you forget what to say, don’t worry—just release the record button to stop. You can pick up right where you left off in the next clip.

In my take, I had to film in three small segments—and that’s absolutely okay!\ TikTok makes it easy to record in pieces. Just focus on one part at a time. If you forget your line or need a break, release the button to stop, then pick it back up when you're ready. Once you’ve recorded your statement, tap the **red checkmark** (✔) at the bottom of the screen. This will take you from the **filming interface** to the **editing interface**, where you can preview and make changes to your video.

**This is the Editing Interface.**\ You’ll know you’re here because the vertical menu in the top right has changed—it now shows options for editing your video. For now, we’re going to **skip editing** to keep things simple. The goal of this exercise is just to **get your first video posted**—no need to worry about edits yet!

**Next, tap on the “Description” box and enter the following text:** > *Hi, I’m \[Your Name\]. I help \[who you serve\] achieve \[what outcome you help them achieve\] because \[your reason or motivation\].*\ > \**I am a registered \[Your Qualifications\].* Feel free to customize this to match your tone and audience!

**Great job!**\ You’ve filmed and prepared your first video—now it’s ready to go live. To publish it, simply tap the **“Post”** button. This will make your video public and share it with your audience. Congratulations on posting your first TikTok!

**To view your video on the app:**\ Tap the **“Profile”** button in the bottom right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile page, where you can see all the videos you’ve posted—including your newest one. Sometimes it takes a few **seconds or moments** for the video to fully upload. If you don’t see it right away, try dragging the screen **downward to refresh**. Once the upload is complete, your video will appear on your profile.

The photo below shows **where your video will appear** on your Profile pageright in your video grid! 🎉 **Congratulations on posting your first TikTok video!**\ You've taken the first big step. Keep practicing, experimenting, and most importantly—have fun with it!

🥳 Share your first video with the group!

From your **Profile** page, tap on the video you want to open. Then, tap the **three dots (•••)** icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
