How to find and use the SU Webpage Template on Union Cloud

Have you requested the SU webpage template but are finding hard to find it (and edit it) on your dashboard? This guide will help!

Navigate to your Dashboard on Union Cloud. You can find your dashboard by signing into the SU website and then selecting "Dashboard" from the top right-hand corner (hover over your name to see it) <https://www.bristolsu.org.uk/administrator>

Scroll down and click "Manage webpages"

You can find your template by clicking "Content Management"

The webpage is visible under "Pages (Tree View)"

Click the > to bring up the webpage sections

Here you can see the sections of your webpage. Please note that if you have not edited the webpage before it will show with a red "Draft" box next to each section. If your section is still in "Draft" **it will not show on your webpage until you set it to a "Live" page** - more info on how to do this is coming up!

It may be useful at this point to have the group template open on another tab<https://www.bristolsu.org.uk/groups/groups-template> Each section on your dashboard corresponds to a section of the template below. You cannot edit the page in its entirety.

For example, if you wanted to edit "The Committee" section of your webpage, you will edit "The Committee" section on your dashboard. See below.

Click "The Committee"

You can choose to edit the template text directly from here

Alternatively, click "Source" and you can edit the text via the HTML code

You may notice in some of the pages' source code that there are some instructions on how to edit the HTML (the source code) - for example, here there are instructions on how to add another committee member box. This will need to be done via the source code, you cannot do this via the plain text.

Make sure your page is set to "Live" for it to be visible on the website. If the page is red and set to "Draft" it will not show on your webpage.

You can make something Live or put it in Draft by clicking the box here.

Remember to save every time you make an edit otherwise your page will not update!

Once your page is saved you will see the green "Page was successfully updated" banner. Click "Back to Tree view" to go back to the section menu.

Click on the other sections to edit them the same way! If you don't need all of these sections, you can just put them in draft. **Do not delete them!**
