How to launch Guide Me

The latest version of Guide Me brings the steps of your Scribe right into your browser through interactive walkthroughs! See where to click and which actions to take as you work through a documented process. There are two ways to launch Guide Me: (1) from Sidekick or (2) directly from a Scribe. Directions for both methods are included below. Guide Me mode is available for Scribes in your account that were created after October 2023.

Scribe

To launch Guide Me with either of the methods below, confirm that you've added the Scribe extension to your Chrome or Edge browser and are logged into your Scribe account. Method 1: Launch Guide Me from Sidekick

Click on the Scribe extension in your browser to open Sidekick. Select the Scribe you'd like to follow.

Select "Guide Me" at the top of Sidekick.

The instructions in your Scribe will appear on your screen, one step at a time! After you complete a step, you'll see the next one.

Method 2: Launch Guide Me from a Scribe

Open the Scribe you'd like to follow. (You can access the Scribe by going to [scribehow.com](http://scribehow.com) and logging in to your workspace or by clicking on a link to the Scribe.)

Hover over a step and select "Guide Me."

The instructions in your Scribe will appear on your screen, one step at a time! After you complete a step, you'll see the next one.

**Troubleshooting**\ Not seeing "Guide Me" when your hover over steps in the Scribe viewer? 1. Check the sidebar editor in Edit mode. Confirm that "Guide me" is not toggled off.

2\. Confirm that there is a URL attached to the step. Do this by selecting the tridot menu next to a screenshot and then "Update *Guide Me* Link."
