1
Launch the KATANA Safety app
2
You will be on a map screen which is your Home Screen.
The buttons on the bottom are for triggering alerts while in the app. The silent and panic buttons work the same way as they do on your device. “Check in” is used to send your current location to your circle of safety contact, and "Walk With Me" is used for short distance travel. This will put you on the phone with a response center agent during times of uncomfortability.
Checking Device Status
3
Look for the battery icon on the top right of your Home Screen. A green battery indicates that you are paired to your device.
4
Clicking on the battery icon will show you the status of your device. Do not click “disconnect” unless you are pairing another device.
Pairing a Device
If there is no battery icon on your Home Screen, this means there is no device paired. You can pair a new device by following the steps below:
5
Open the menu (the 3 lines in the top left corner)
6
In your menu, you can choose from “edit profile” “my circle” or “devices”.
click “ devices” to add a new device
7
Select the blue plus, choose your device, and follow the instructions to pair your new device.
Editing Profile and Updating Circle of Safety
8
To update your circle of safety or to edit your profile, open the menu on the left hand side of your screen.
Error Messages
9
If you open the app and see a blue banner titled "some issues were detected" click on it.
This blue banner is an indication that you are not in a ready state.
10
After clicking on the banner, the app lets you know what issues persist. Clicking "fix it" will give you instructions on how to correct any issues.

Example:
12
After the existing issues are corrected, click on the battery icon to ensure that your device is paired
