How to setup a Keyword Automation using ManyChat for Your "Comment for the Link!" Posts

This flow will show you step-by-step how to setup a keyword automation for your social channels. You can use these keyword automations for lead magnets, funnels, and promotions you are offering in your business. Your audience can comment a special word to receive the link automatically in their direct messages.

Navigate to <https://manychat.com/> and login to your account

Choose ManyChat account to be used in this automation. Click on the dropdown at the top left side of the screen and click

Click "Automation" on the left-hand menu

Click "Keywords" *NOTE: Manychat has updated the location of "Keywords" between the "Basic" and "Sequences" options within the "Automations" page*

Click "New Keyword" to create your automation.

Click "+ Keyword"

Type the keyword you want to use to trigger this automation. In this demonstration, I'm using the keyword "DELEGATE"

Click "Select channel"

Click "Instagram" *Note: Can add any other social channels that you have connected to Manychat*

Click "Create"

Click "Create New Reply"

You will be redirected to the automation flow editor. Click the "Enter your text..." field.

Copy and paste the message you want your audience to receive upon sending the keyword into the box. You'll see a preview of the message on the right side of the flow.

**NOTE: Depending on what plan you have with Manychat you can add additional tags, messages, and automation steps** If on pro plan, would recommend on trigger to send a message asking for additional consent to send the link and then using the tags features to track "**interest**" & "**views**" of the link you have in this automation **You can send more custom messages based on whether your audience member has shown "interest" and has "viewed the link"** Example: - User sends DM with keyword "**DELEGATE**" - Manychat automation replies with **"Hi! You're interested in the FREE DELEGATE Workshop, right?** 🥰" - User clicks button that says **"Yes!!** 😍" - Tag: "Name of Link Interested" - Manychat automation replies **"YAY! Can't wait to see you there! The link to secure your spot is here! ⬇️"** - User clicks button that says **"** ✅ **Claim your Spot!"** - Tag: "Name of Link Viewed Opt-In Page" **This creates higher conversion rates on your free workshop or whatever link you are promoting since it increases interest and adds more activity in your DMs**

Click "Set Live" at the top right corner. You can also preview the message. **NOTE:** Test the automation to see if it's working properly. Using another Instagram account, send a message to the Instagram account you set this up on using the keyword. You should receive an automatic reply with the message you sent. *You can use the "**Preview**" button to test your automation, but a tech rule I recommend is doing **a native test** on the social platforms this automation is setup for in addition as part of your tech setup process*

NOTE: I recommend adding additional triggers for this keyword by clicking the **"New Trigger"** button **You'll be able to cover multiple locations your audience might message you with this keyword** **Example for Instagram:** - User sends a Direct Message with Keyword - User comments on Post (on ANY post option available for Pro Plan only) - User replies on any Story or message That way if you decide to do keyword marketing in your Instagram Stories, Reels, Carousel Posts, and ask for your audience to **Comment** the keyword or **DM you** the keyword your automation will still trigger for each <3

You're all set! Now when you drop a post with a call-to-action that says something similar to: **Comment "DELEGATE" for the link** Manychat will automatically do it for you! (No having to manually direct message the link!). Yayyyyy!!!
