đź’ˇ Downloading the browser extension to track time in Asana
1
To enable time tracking in Asana you will first have to download the Harvest extension for the browser you will be working with. Refer to [**this section**](https://scribehow.com/viewer/How_to_track_your_time_in_Harvest_through_the_Asana_integration__Vtd8ycL9Qbe3kbSgchER6w?scrollToActionId=bb0e1a11) to follow the directions to download and install the extension for whichever browser you use.
The Asana integration is not currently supported in the desktop app. To use the Asana integration, you'll need to install and track from a web browser using a browser extension.
đź’ˇ Tracking time in Asana
2
Once the extension for your browser has been downloaded and installed, you can track time from any Asana task that you have access to in Asana.
3
Select a task in Asana and click the timer icon "⏱️" in the top right menu of the task to access the "Harvest" tracker.
4
A timer window will open. Select a project and task. The "Project + Task" name should match the one you are working with in Asana, if it does not match then click under "Project / Task" and type the project name.
5
Make sure the "task type" in harvest is correct, which should be by default, follow this step only if you identify that is not correct, then go ahead and search for the task type to match the activity you'll be doing.
📌 **REMINDERS** **The first time you track time to an Asana task** you’d need to manually specify a Harvest project and task. After the first time, Harvest will remember your project and task selection for that Asana task. For an Asana task with time tracked to it, the integration should remember the last chosen project and task combination. **However, on a new Asana task without tracked time**, the integration will generally default to the Harvest project and task last used for another task on that project.
⚠️ All our tasks are (should) be linked to a project, if you find yourself with a task that is not in a project reach out to our Asana Support @Barbara Ramirez in Asana.
6
Click Start timer or add a duration or start times. When a timer is running the hands on the timer icon’s clock will be spinning.
7
To stop a timer, click the timer icon again (it will have turned blue). The timer window will open, and you can click "Stop timer".

On this date, the original Harvest Time Clock icon will no longer appear within Asana. However, the latest versions of the Harvest browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge provide the same functionality. **Please install or update the extension for your browser** before November 7, 2023, to continue tracking time from within Asana as usual. ##
