8th Grade

Click the three lines icon on the left to expand your ICAP checklist. "Electronic Signature" is optional (ask your counselor). "Print Report" is not a component you need to complete and will never turn green - it is simply how you can see a copy of your ICAP

Click "Career Cluster Inventory" to start your first component

Read or listen to the description and instructions. Then click "Start"

Rate how much you like or dislike the activities listed by selecting "Like Very Much", "Like", "Not Sure", or "Dislike"

Your top three results will appear. Click on one or each of them to learn more. Specifically, click "Pathways" to learn what available pathways are in the cluster as you will need to pick one in the next step

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Career Paths, Clusters, & Pathways"

Click the link to review what Career Paths, Clusters, & Pathways you have to choose from

Select your Career Path, Career Cluster, and Career Pathway from the drop-down boxes. Then click "Submit"

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Postsecondary Goals"

Type in what your current goals are after high school, then click "Submit"

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Postsecondary Options"

Select what options you're considering after high school, then click "Submit". You can select multiple.

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Electronic Signature"

Type in your name and the date, then click "Submit"

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Print Report" to see a copy of your ICAP

9th Grade

Your ICAP dashboard will tell you how many total components you have to complete, and what your percentage of completion currently is. The completion color key on the right will start to populate the gray components on the left as you start completing them. If you have any components that are already green, that means you completed them last year but you need to re-do and update them this year.

Click "Interest Profiler" to start your first component

Read or listen to the description and instructions. Then click "Start"

Rate how much you like or dislike the activities listed by selecting "Like Very Much", "Like", "Not Sure", or "Dislike"

Your top two results will appear. Scroll down to the bottom and click on your top results to see a description of each interest area. Click on one or each of them to learn more

Scroll back up and click your top interest area that is linked to explore careers that also fall into that interest area. Search careers by cluster, keyword, or custom sort

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Reality Check"

Read or listen to the description and instructions. Then click "Start" if you don't know what career you're interested in, or "Start With a Career" if you do

Select what region of the state you would like to live in

Click the icons to advance to the next question, or click "Next"

You will proceed to answer a series of questions about what your financial responsibilities will look like after high school or after college

Once finished, either choose a career cluster that you're interested in or select "I am just not sure yet," then click "Results"

Your results will show you the breakdown of your monthly expenses

Scroll down to see your total annual salary needed then click "Your Custom Careers List" to see a list of careers that match

Search for careers that fit your annual salary needed by cluster, keyword, or custom sort

Click the three lines icon again to expand your checklist. Then click "Career Cluster Inventory"

Read or listen to the description and instructions. Then click "Start"
