Install Claude Desktop & Cowork on Windows

There's a couple of extra steps to install Claude Desktop. If you don't have device-level permissions, check with your IT department. This guides you through downloading the app for windows, enabling developer mode and then completing the install. You can disable developer mode after install.

Navigate to <https://claude.com/download>

Click "Download for Windows"

Click "Claude" in your Downloads

You will then be prompted to change the Trusted app installs. If you have access to settings, click "Yes". Otherwise contact your IT department.

This takes you to the device "Settings- Advanced". Scroll down to find "Developer mode". Toggle "On"

You'll then be prompted to confirm you want to turn on "Developer mode". You can turn this off after installation. Click "Yes".

Return to the Claude setup to continue installation.

Once it is complete, you can toggle "Developer Mode" off again.

From the App click "Get Started"

Enter the email address you have set Claude up on

From your email, either verify the Claude account, or grab the verification code.

You're ready to go!
