Installing Printer with Downloaded Print Driver and Generic Print Driver.

This guide provides a step-by-step process for installing a printer to a device. Also includes, adding the Generic ZPL Text.

Download the Printer Driver from website. <https://zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads.html>

Search printer name and press enter. May also scroll down to Software Support and locate under Printer Drivers

Select Desktop Support

Click the down arrow to open chosen file for printer

Click "Download"

Agree to the terms and conditions and select 'Download'

After the download is complete, double click on the file from downloads. Follow the on screen instructions to install printer.

After the set up saves the appropriate files, select 'Install Printer Driver' and again agree to the terms and conditions.

Plug the printer into computer using the USB cable and turn on printer. Windows should automatically detect the new printer.

If Windows **does not detect** new printer as above, go to Control Panel>Devices and Printers>Add Printer. Select printer from list or choose 'add local printer' and follow the wizard.

Follow all of the necessary steps to complete the install wizard. Select 'Exit' when done.

Installing Generic ZPL Printer

The Generic ZPL Printer will share the same Port as the printer just installed. To determine the port, navigate to 'Control Panel'

Click "View devices and printers"

Click "Bluetooth & devices"

Click "Printers & scanners"

Click the printer just installed.

Click "Printer properties"

Click "Ports"

Make note of the port for the printer and click "OK"

Click "Back"

To install the Generic ZPL Printer, add a printer or scanner"

Click "Add a new device manually"

Choose 'Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings' and 'Next'

Select the bubble for 'use an existing port' and then click the port noted from previous (the one the printer was installed too).

Click "Next"

Select Generic/Text Only and the Next button.

Choose 'Use the driver that is currently installed'.

Enter the name indicating 'text only' and then 'next'.

Select if this is a shared printer or individual device.

Complete by selecting 'Finish'.

Verifying Install of Generic ZPL Printer

Back within the Control Panel>Bluetooth & Devices>Printers, select the installed Printer.

The settings of the Printer will appear indicating both the physical printer and text only. This indicates everything was set up properly.
