Installing the Publication Facts Label (PFL) Plugin for OJS 3.3 to 3.5

Journals will require Site Administrator assistance to upload plugin files and to install plugin from the Plugin Gallery.

Plugin Installation

Navigate back to your journal. Then click "Website"

Click "Plugins"

Click Plugin Gallery and look for the Publication Facts Label plugin.

Install the Publication Facts Label Plugin

Once installed, go back to the 'Installed Plugins' tab. Search for the Publication Facts Label.

Click the checkbox to enable the plugin.

Click the blue arrow to expand the menu.

Click "Settings" to configure the plugin.

Enter and select the relevant information.

Click 'OK' to Save.

Navigate to the Article Landing page to see the plugin.

Additional Recommended Plugins and Configurations

Important tip! To ensure that there is data for these three elements of the Publication Facts Label, install (a) the Funding Plugin and (b) Competing Interest Plugin and, as well, activate (c) the Data Availability Statement within OJS's Metadata options. Once the plugins has been enabled, this information will be displayed for future articles where this information has been added. This step will require Journal Administrator access.

To install the 'Funding Plugin' go to the 'Plugin Gallery'

Search for the 'Funding Plugin.' Click the plugin name followed by Install.

Once installed, enable the 'Funding Plugin'

Once enabled, a 'Funding' tab will be available on the Manuscript publication tab

A 'Funding' field will also be added to the Author Submission form.

To install the Competing Interest Plugin, go to <https://gitlab.com/ubiquitypress/ojs-plugin-competing-interests>

Download the plugin file "tar.gz" to your desktop.

Enable the 'Competing Interest Plugin'

Once enabled, the plugin will add a 'Competing Interest' field in the Author Submission form.

You can enable the Data Availability Statement for OJS 3.4 by going into the Journals Workflow Setting, click Submission followed by Metadata.

Data Availability Statements are not available for OJS 3.3.
