Invitation to Objects via Email

(created 10/16/24) This guide introduces a new feature that streamlines collaboration by allowing users to invite others to access various objects on the platform via email.

A new feature is available on all objects within the platform that has a 'Manage Permissions' toolset: - Resources - Collections - Groups - Curriculum Tool Items: Lessons, Outlines, Projects - Courses This new feature allows a user to be invited to access the object based on the permission provided via their email address. To access the feature a user must have the profile permissions on the specific objects or objects where it is desired to access this feature. The example below is showing the **Manage Permissions Modal** on a *Group.*

To use this feature, complete the following steps: - *Add* the **email** of the applicable user in the **Invite by Email** text box and click the +Add button - *Select* the **applicable permissions** that the user should receive when accessing the object - *Click* the **Save Permissions** button

An email will be sent out to the user inviting them to collaborate and they will be greeted by a page to accept the invite. - Once 'open' is clicked. - If a user has not yet registered for an account, they will be prompted to do so. Once they complete registration, they will gain access to the object with the permissions selected by the sender. - If the user already has a registered account, they will be greeted with an 'accept invite' screen. After accepting the invitation, they will gain access to the object with the permissions selected by the sender.
