Kingston FLL Event Volunteer Application Guide

Interested in volunteering at the Kingston FLL Challenge Qualifier or the Kingston FLL Explore Festival? Here's a step-by-step guide to lead you through the process.

Firstinspires

Account Registration

Navigate to [https://www.firstinspires.org/](https://www.firstinspires.org/)

If you don't have a firstinspires account, click "REGISTER"

Fill in your information and click "Register"

Account Login

Once you have an account, click "MY DASHBOARD"

Fill in your credentials and click "Login"

Volunteer Registration

Once on your dashboard, click "VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION"

Click "EVENT VOLUNTEERING"

Click "FIRST® LEGO® League - Explore" and/or "FIRST® LEGO® League - Challenge" to filter by the programs relevant to the Kingston Qualifier and Kingston Festival, respectively.

Type "Kingston" in the sidebar and apply the filters

Click "VOLUNTEER" for the event of interest

Select which date(s) you are available to volunteer for, and add any notes on your availability if applicable. You can enter your employer information here as well (not required).

Most roles require full day attendance (approximately 8:00am-5:00pm, but refer to communication from the Volunteer Coordinator for official confirmation).

Select the role(s) that you are interested in applying for

Drag and drop your selected roles to indicate your order of preference

Click "Next" once you have finished selecting and ordering your roles

Specify your affiliations with any teams in the program, if any, and click "COMPLETE"

Your application is now complete! Applicants 18 years or older must next complete the free youth protection screening (valid for 3-4 years) and background check. Also ensure that you complete the consent and release forms.

Important Note: If you're 18 or older, you cannot be assigned to a role until you clear the free youth protection screening.

Next Steps

Await an email with the subject line "FIRST Notification of Event Volunteer Assignment Status" from[donotreply@firstinspires.org](mailto:donotreply@firstinspires.org). This email will contain information on your assigned role.

**If your role requires training (eg. judge, referee)**, you may receive instructions from a key volunteer to complete an online training module. You may also receive information on a meeting for training prior to the event or on the morning of the competition.
