Learn Ultra enrolment for Health and Safety courses.

This guide outlines the process for enrolling on Health and Safety courses from the Learn Ultra course catalogue. It also shows what a course will look like, how you access the training and successfully complete your training. If you have difficulty viewing the images please use the zoom (+) function to view the content in more detail.

How to enrol on a course in Learn

Navigate to [https://www.learn.ed.ac.uk/ultra/course](https://www.learn.ed.ac.uk/ultra/course)

Click "Course Catalogue"

Type the name of the course you are looking for, or key words in the title. Check this [page](https://health-safety.ed.ac.uk/training/portfolio/course-overview) on the Health and Safety website if you are unsure of the correct course name.

Make sure that the course has the word **ultra** in the course id and the description states: ***[[This is the current course, provided for students, by the Health and Safety department.]]***

Click on the grey down arrow.

A drop down window will open. Select enrol.

A new window will open, click the submit button,

A new window will open to confirm your enrollment, click OK if you want to start the course straight away. If not, exit the window to return to the course catalogue.

Accessing and completing the course

When you open the course, click on "Course users - please join Group" and read the instructions.

Click "×" to close this section.

You will now see that the circle to the left of the title "Course users - please join Group" is half filled (it was clear before). This shows that you have completed this section. Now click on "Groups"

Scroll through the list to find the Group for where you study/work. Click "Join"

Click on "Content"

You will now see the Instructions and course content has loaded. Click "Instructions"

Read the Instructions and then click "×" to close.

Now that both the "Course users" and "Instructions" sections are marked as complete, please click on the title of the third section.

This opens up the training section. Click "Start attempt 1".

A new pop up window will appear. (This may take a few seconds to load so please be patient. If it does not appear, please try the steps above again, and check that you have pop-ups enabled.) Complete the full course - you will see that each section marks with a tick (in the left hand menu) when you have completed them. Once you have completed the training, please complete the Quiz.

Read the instructions about the Quiz, and when you are ready to start click on "Start Quiz".

Once you have finished the quiz, your results will be shown like this. If you have not met the pass mark, you may click on "Take Again" to go through the quiz again. You are allowed a maximum of 3 attempts to pass.

If you have passed the quiz, please click on the x in the top right corner to close the pop-up window.

This will take you back to your Learn course. Refresh your screen by clicking here.

You will now see that there is a green tick beside the course name - this shows you have successfully completed it.

You will also now see a "1" beside the Gradebook

The Gradebook will show if you have passed, and your score.

You have now successfully completed your training. You may exit the course in Learn.
