Process for when an adopted dog is being surrendered

Learn how to process surrender forms via email signatures and update animal movement statuses efficiently. This guide simplifies the process of requesting digital signatures and modifying reservation records within the ShelterManager system.

Sheltermanager

Click on the dogs **Movements** section

Click on the adopters name

On the adopters profile click on the **Document** button

Click on "9_7_SSAR_Surrender_Form.html"

Check that the information in the form is correct and the dogs microchip is populated. Then click **Save**.

Click this checkbox.

Click **Sign**.

Click "Request signature by email"

Click the **Template** dropdown.

Check the email contents are correct and the Email To box. Then click "**Send**"

Click on the dogs name

Click "Movements"

Click "Adoption"

Change the Movement Type to "**Reservation**".

Click the "Reservation Cancelled" field and enter the date.

Click "Change"

Check that the Surrender form has been signed. The document will show as signed on the Media section of the adopters profile as a small pen knib under the document.

Message the Microchip manager to ask them to retract the microchip for the dog, copy the microchip number to send with the request.
