Managing Candidates Who Weren't Hired

No one likes to be "ghosted." After you have filled all current openings it is important to communicate with remaining applicants.to let them know that the positions are filled.

No one likes to be "ghosted." After you have filled all current openings it is important to communicate with remaining applicants.to let them know that the positions are filled.

If you forsee potential openings this academic year you can choose to keep some applications active. From the Job in smart recruiters, open the "People" tab.\ Click the "All Active" button.

Select candidates that you want to remain active.

Click "Actions" and "Send Message"

Click "Select template" and choose "Student Positions Filled" You can customize the message to the applicants. Each will receive a separate message. \ Choose to "Send message"

It is important to communicate clearly to candidates who haven't been reviewed or would not be considered for future openings. Select these candidates.

Click "Actions" and choose "Reject"

Click "Reject applicants (5)"

Notify studentemployment@augsburg.edu that the job can be unpublished. If you need to fill additional positions in the future you can \ - work directly with the candidates who remain active\ - publish the job publicly for all students to see\ - request a private link to share the posting with only select students.
