Adding Questions to a Quiz

This video is part 3 of 3 for creating a functioning and seamless quiz experience using Moodle, that is adding questions to the quiz shell.

Click to open the quiz shell that you want to add questions to.

Once there, you'll see a yellow bar that says no questions have been added yet.

To add a question, you can click the gray **Add question** button.

Another way to navigate to this page is by selecting **Questions**, the third option in the menu ribbon underneath your quiz title.

You might wish to change the **Maximum grade** in the top right corner of the quiz. If the quiz is not out of 100 points.

Once you make your change, you would click **Save**.

To add questions, click **Add** and then **from question bank**.

First. If you have your questions organized into categories, click the category dropdown menu.

Select the category from which you would like to pull your question.

Click **Apply filters**

To add just one question, you can click the **+** sign next to the question that you wish to add.

To add multiple question, check the checkbox next to each question or click the very top checkbox to select all the questions.

Then click **Add selected questions to the quiz**.

Once added, you will see the question within the quiz. No saving needs to be done at this point.
How to Shuffle Questions

You might want to shuffle questions in the quiz. To do so, check the box next to **Shuffle**.

Alternatively, you can also add questions that are not housed in your question bank. Simply click the **Add** dropdown menu and then **a new question**.

From the pop up, choose the question type you would like to add. Refer to it for more detailed instructions.

To preview your quiz, you would go back to the quiz landing page itself by clicking **Quiz** underneath the quiz title.

And then you can press the blue **Preview quiz** button.

Now your can view what students will see when they go through this quiz.
