Navigating Housing Selection Roommate Groups

This guide provides a step-by-step guide for roommate groups. It covers how to create a group, how to add individuals, how to change the group leader, how to remove group members, how to search for roommate groups, and how to view your group selection time.

Creating a Housing Selection Group

Navigate to [go.wfu.edu/HousingPortal](https://wfu.starrezhousing.com/StarRezPortalX/D8CBA57E/3/3/Home-Home?UrlToken=4C07E1D9) Select "My Housing" then select "Fall and/or Spring"

Click "Continue"

Click "Save & Continue"

Click the "Check this box if you wish to be included in the roommate searching process:"

Click "Save & Continue"

Click "Create Group" This is where the Group Leader would create a group name.

Insert your desired group name

Click "Create Group"

Adding Individuals to Your Group

To add and search for members for your group, click "Search for INDIVIDUAL Roommates"

Search up friends you would like to add to your group using their WFU email address

Click "Search"

Click "Add to Group"

Click "Save & Continue"

During housing selection, only suite/apartment options will show based on your group size. For example, if you have a group of six, when you enter Housing Selection, it will only show you suites/apartments that can accommodate six residents.

Change Group Leader

Click "Make Leader" to whichever individual in your group will now be the new group leader

Click "Yes"

Click "Save & Continue"

Remove a Group Member

Click "Remove Roommate"

Click "Yes"

Click "Save & Continue"

Searching for a Group to Join

One way to find a group is by filling out the Google Form found on our website <https://housing.wfu.edu/current-students/housing-selection-for-current-students/>

If you are looking for others to join your group, another way is exploring groups that already exist and reaching out to see if they would be open to joining your group.

Click "Search for a Roommate GROUP"

You can adjust the size of group you are looking for. For example if you are a group of 3 looking to become a group of 6, you can search 1 to 3. You can also look up groups based on their name or their WFU email address

If you find a group size that you would be interested in joining, you can email the group leader directly to determine if combining groups would be best.

Once you are done, you can click "Go Back" to finish the rest of your application

View Group/Individual Selection Time

Click "Save & Continue" once you reach the roommate page

The next page will list both your group selection time and your individual selection time. *Please note that your group and individual selection time may not be the same.* In addition, if you make any changes to your group, your group selection time may change. We encourage you to check back in the Housing Portal prior to your selection day to check your group selection time. **ONLY** the group leader will log into the Housing Portal at the selection time and complete Housing Selection for the group. If you current group leader is unable to select housing at your group selection time, you should switch to a group leader who is available at that time.
