Nursing Assistant Tutorial (Ages 18 and Under)

This guide is for high school students that will be under the age of 18 when the nursing assistant class begins.

Alert! This guide works best on a desktop or laptop computer. Avoid using a mobile device. Stop at any NWTC location if you need access to a computer.

Tip! In this first step, you are going to **create an NWTC accoun**t. You will be given an NWTC student ID & create a password. Make sure to write your ID down or save it so you can easily find it the next time you need to log in.

Go to [[www.nwtc.edu/apply]] and Click "**Create an NWTC Account"**

In this next step, you are going to log in to [[www.nwtc.edu/mynwtc]] using your NWTC student ID and password you created in the prior step.

Enter your NWTC ID and select "Sign In"

Enter your password \ (IF YOU FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD DO NOT SELECT THE "FORGOT MY PASSWORD" link on the below page, reset your password here: [[ https://pwd.nwtc.edu]]

Click "Apply to a program or certificate"

Search for "Nursing Assistant"

Click "Nursing Assistant - Technical Diploma"

Click "Continue"

Select the semester you will START the Nursing Assistant course. (Fall is August - December, Spring is January - May).

Add your High School information and select "Submit application"

Click "View Next Steps"

Click "Nursing Assistant - requested items"

Visit www.nwtc.edu/cbc & click "Get Started"

Click "Start Your Order"

Click "Nursing Assistant for K12 Students (under age 18 only)"

Tip! Because you will be under the age of 18 at the time the Nursing Assistant class begins. You will NOT complete the Background Check. You will ONLY complete the Health Portal.

Alert! You must email [cbc@nwtc.edu](mailto:cbc@nwtc.edu) the following: “I am a potential Nursing Assistant student, my name is XXXX , my NWTC student ID XXXX\ and my date of birth is XX/XX/XXXX.”

Click "Health Portal"

Click "Confirm"

Click this button field.

Click this text field.

Click "Confirm" (Note the fee is less for those under age 18)

Add your First, Last and Middle Name!

Add your Social Security Number

Add your birthdate and select your gender ...

Alert! You must **add your NWTC Student ID number** here. If you do not know your NWTC student ID number please call 920-498-5444 or visit [[https://student-portal.nwtc.edu/Account/ForgotId]]

Add your phone number and your NWTC Student ID number

Add your email address! Note: This is the email address where you will receive communications from Viewpoint.

Add your home address ...

Click "Next"

Confirm your information is correct and select "OK" ...

You will now be prompted to add your payment information.

After payment has been submitted, you will create a password and automatically be logged into viewpoint! This is your "home page or dashboard" ...

Navigate to "Health Portal" to view required documents ...

Click "on the blue link" to view the details for each requirement ...

Click "Upload" to upload your records ..

Download and fill out the Technical Standards form. You can download it by clicking on "the document" link ...

The document will open in a new tab. Be sure to add your NWTC Student ID and Name at the top.

Initial both places!

Alert! Make sure to sign (by typing in the box), print, date and add your NWTC Student ID number!

Type and Sign your name, date and add NWTC Student ID Number.

Check the box ...

Save the completed document to your device!

Click "Upload New Technical Standards Document"

Click "Select File" to search your computer for your saved document

Click "Select File"

Find your saved document ...

Click "Open" to upload it to Viewpoint

Click "Continue" ...

Click to review your uploaded document

Click "Document is correct. Complete upload for review"

Click "Done" ...

View the status of the documents you have submitted.

You can also view the results from the "view results" tab ...

Tip! You can review the status of all documents on the right hand side. All items in the Health Portal should show "complete". You may need to resubmit some items. When all items are complete, notify [cbc@nwtc.edu](mailto:cbc@nwtc.edu) to complete your NWTC admissions checklist.
