Optimistic Mode

This guide offers a streamlined approach to using Cephable's Optimistic Mode, which enhances voice control speed & responsiveness, especially useful for users with variable speech patterns.

Click to see the list of active controls in your panel. In this case the current controls are for Microsoft Word. Optimistic voice controls will trigger faster than standard listening mode and will trigger even if you don't say the word or phrase the same way every time. This can be especially helpful for people with variable speech patterns. Keep in mind, if you want to start using another microphone mode again, like dictation, you can switch between all of Cephable's microphone modes with your voice. Let's try optimistic mode in action in Microsoft Word.

Click "Start Microphone" or toggle it on in the Cephable Panel

Use your global controls and say "turn on optimistic" or "start optimistic" to turn on this mode.

Make sure you are clicked/focused into the associated app where you want to use your voice controls. In this case, we are using Microsoft Word.

Triple-click "Page 1 content"

Then Cephable will select that line for you in Microsoft Word.

Next, try saying the voice command - "bold"

Click "Page 1 content"

You can also try the voice controls, "insert date" or "insert time" and Cephable will do the work for you in Optimistic Mode.

When you need to start using dictation again, you can switch out of optimistic mode by saying, "dictate" or "start dictation". Now you can use text to speech in your Word document.
