This guide explains how to use the Config Calculator in the Partner Portal. It provides step-by-step instructions for configuring video storage, camera specifications, and access control, helping you generate accurate project quotes quickly and efficiently.

**Config Calc:** - Select **Config Calc** from the left-hand tab in the Partner Portal.\ **Or** - Navigate directly to [https://portal.qumulex.io/#/calc/](https://portal.qumulex.io/#/calc/4021096492/0)

**Select the Service Term:** Specify the number of years for which the customer would like to receive a quote.

**Example:** Selecting a **two-year** service term for the quote.

**Select Video Storage Type:** Choose the appropriate video storage configuration for this project.\ **Example:** Local-only storage with Cloud Management.

**Save Settings & Proceed:** Click **"Next"** to save your settings and continue to **Resource Selection**.

**Add a Camera:**\ From the **Resources** tab, click **"Add Camera"** to proceed.

**Select the Description Field:** Click the **"Description"** field to enter relevant details.

**Name the Camera Group:** Enter a meaningful name to ensure clarity when reviewing the camera list and counts.\ **Example:** Populating data for **"Interior Cameras."**

**Set Camera Resolution:** Select the desired recording resolution from the dropdown menu.

**Example:** Selecting **"8 (4K)"** as the recording resolution.

**Set Frame Rate:** Select the desired **frames per second (fps)**—also known as **images per second (ips)**—from the dropdown menu.

**Example:** Selecting **"15"** as the frame rate (fps/ips).

**Set Activity Level:** Select the desired **Activity** percentage from the field. Any value can be manually entered based on site requirements. **Standard Options:** - **High:** 25% motion (6 hours of motion per day per imager) - **Medium:** 12.5% motion (3 hours of motion per day per imager) - **Low:** 6.25% motion (1.5 hours of motion per day per imager)

**Example:** Selecting **Medium (12.5% Motion / 3 hours per day of recorded activity).**

**Enable H.265 Compression:** This camera utilizes **H.265** compression. By default, if the box is unchecked, the standard **H.264** compression will be used. Click the **"H.265"** field to enable it.

**Enable AI People Classification Analytics:** This ONVIF M-compliant camera will utilize AI-based **People Classification Analytics**. Click the **"Analytics"** field to ensure the correct licensing is added to the **Bill of Materials**.

**Finalize Camera Settings:** Click **"Save"** to complete the camera setup.

**Add Additional Sensors:** Since more sensors need to be added, click **"Add Camera"** again to proceed.

**Set Quantity:** Click the **"Quantity"** field to specify the required amount.

**Add Multiple Exterior Cameras:** Since all exterior cameras share the same make, model, and settings, add multiple cameras in this entry to streamline configuration.

**Select the Description Field:** Click the **"Description"** field to enter relevant details.

**Enter Camera Description:** Type **"Exterior Cameras"** to label this set of cameras appropriately.

**Choose Camera Resolution:** Select the appropriate resolution from the dropdown menu based on project requirements.

**Select Resolution:** Click **"8 (4K)"** to set the desired recording resolution.

**Set Frame Rate:** Choose the appropriate **frames per second (fps)** from the dropdown menu to match project requirements.

**Select Frame Rate:** Click **"15"** to set the desired frames per second (fps) for recording.

**Select Activity Level:** Click the **"Activity"** field to enter the desired percentage based on site requirements.

**Example Selection:** Choosing the **High profile**—**25% activity** or **6 hours** of recorded event activity per day.

**Enable H.265 Compression:** Since these cameras utilize **H.265** compression, click the **"H.265"** field to apply this setting.

**Enable Vehicle & People Analytics:** Since these ONVIF M-compliant cameras support **Vehicle and People Analytics**, click the **"Analytics"** field to apply the correct licensing to the **Bill of Materials**.

**Finalize Camera Configuration:** Click **"Save"** to apply the settings and complete the setup.

**Account for Access Control:** Since this project includes an **access control component**, ensure that door licenses are properly accounted for in the **Bill of Materials**. Click **"Add Door"** to proceed.

**Set Door Quantity:** Click the **"Quantity"** field and enter the total number of doors requiring access control licensing.

**Enter Door Quantity:** Type **"4"** to specify the number of doors requiring access control licensing.

**Enter Door Description:** Click the **"Description"** field and enter a name that best fits the project scale. For a **smaller project**, you can use a general label like **"Doors."**\ For a **larger project**, consider specific entries for **different buildings** or **distinct areas** within the complex to allow for easier modifications later.

**Example Selection:** Using the generic identifier **"Doors"** as the label for this entry.

**Finalize Door Configuration:** Click **"Save"** to apply the settings and complete the access control setup.

**Proceed to Bandwidth Configuration:** Now that all device entries are complete, click **"Next"** to advance to the **Bandwidth** tab.

**Review Bandwidth Requirements:** The **Bandwidth** tab helps provide customers with insights into their potential **LAN and WAN connectivity requirements**. Additionally, this tool features a **built-in Speed Test Mechanism**—if you're on-site with a customer, you can connect and check their available bandwidth. **Proceed to Gateway Configuration:** Click **"Next"** to move on to the **Gateway** tab.

**Select Server Form Factor:** Since this example has **no RAID or hard environmental requirements**, the **1U Rackmount** option is the best fit for the application. Click the **"1U Rackmount"** field to proceed.

**Proceed to the Next Step:** Click **"Next"** to continue the configuration process.

**Save the Bill of Materials:** Now that the **Bill of Materials (BOM)** includes the appropriately sized **gateway** and required **licensing**, you have two saving options: 1. **Export BOM** – Save the Bill of Materials externally. 2. **Save to Portal** – Store the opportunity for later recall (most common). To proceed with saving to the portal, click **"Next."**

**Enter Opportunity Name:** Click the **"Name"** field to assign a meaningful identifier for this project in the portal.

**Finalize Quote:** Click **"Save"** to store the quote. It will be accessible from the **Config Calc** tab the next time you log in.
