Search for **ChatGPT** in any browser Click on the first link with the domain address - [chatgpt.com](https://chatgpt.com)

**What is ChatGPT?** ChatGPT is an AI-powered conversational model developed by OpenAI, based on the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture. It can understand and generate human-like text, making it useful for tasks like answering questions, writing content, tutoring, coding help, and more. ChatGPT is trained on diverse internet data and can be fine-tuned for specific applications such as customer support, virtual assistants, and educational tools.

Click on the **Sign up for free** button on the top right side **Note:** If you already have an account you can click on **Log in** button

**Create an account** page will open, here you can type your email address, click on the **Continue** button and follow the steps. **Note:** You can also continue with Social Accounts like Google, Microsoft, and Apple

Click on the **Continue with Google** button to Sign in with your Google Account

Choose the Google Account you'd like to sign in with.

**Verify your identity** page will open, please note, this will only happen if two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your account. Enter the one-time code and click the **Continue** button.

**What is 2FA, and why is enabling it considered a best practice and strongly recommended?** Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security process that requires you to verify your identity using two different methods, typically something you know (like a password) and something you have (like a code sent to your phone). Enabling 2FA is strongly recommended because it adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Even if someone obtains your password, they won't be able to access your account without the second verification step, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Lets test it out, type "**You are Lex Friedman, You are going to interview Sachin Tendulkar tomorrow, What are the first FIVE questions that you are going to ask**" and click on the send button

Here, you can see ChatGPT's response, including the question it generated and details about that question.

You can ask anything to ChatGPT, now let's try "**Generate a bulleted list of items i need for an 15 day everest base camp trek**"

You can also ask follow-up questions to ChatGPT, type "**I will be staying tree houses on the trek, can you update the list?**" **Note:** Each chat has its own context window, allowing you to ask multiple follow-up questions within the same conversation.

**What is Context Window?** **Context window** refers to the amount of information a language model (like ChatGPT) can "remember" and use at any given time during a conversation. In simpler terms: - It's the space where the model keeps track of recent messages, both your questions and its responses. - This helps the model understand the flow of conversation, maintain context, and provide relevant follow-up answers. However, the context window has a limit (measured in tokens, which are chunks of text). If a conversation gets too long, older parts may be "forgotten" as new ones take up space.
