PowerSchool Parent Accounts

This guide provides a straightforward process for parents to create and manage their PowerSchool accounts, enabling them to monitor their children's academic progress and attendance easily. By following the steps, parents can consolidate information for multiple students under a single account, ensuring efficient access to important school updates. Additionally, the guide offers options for language preferences, making it accessible for non-English speakers.

Powerschool

Navigate to <https://chpschools.powerschool.com/public/home.html> If you're using the PowerSchool app, the district code is NMXW.

Creating A Parent Account in PowerSchool

Click "Parent Sign In"

Click "Create Parent Account"

Enter your information in the *Parent Account Details* section. This information does not need to match an existing email address in PowerSchool. The password is set by the parent, not provided by the school.

Complete the *Link Students to Account* section. The student name does not need to match what the school has in PowerSchool, so it's okay to use nicknames here. The Access ID and Access Password will be provided by the school and must be typed in exactly as provided. If you need this information, please reach out to the main office of the school. You can enter information for multiple students. Each parent/guardian should only have one account with all their children.

Scroll to the bottom and click "Enter"

If you just created your account, you'll be redirected to the sign-in page. Click Parent Sign In and enter your credentials.

When you first log in the default screen will show you your student's current grades and attendance from the last two weeks. If you have multiple students, you can switch to another student in the top left corner of the screen.

Updating Your Language

Click "Account Preferences"

Select the Language dropdown and choose English or Spanish.

Adding a Student to an Existing Parent Account

Click "Account Preferences"

Click "Students"

Click "Add Student"

Enter the Student Access Information provided by the school. If you need this information, please reach out to the main office of the school.
