Is your department listed on the form? Great! You're in the right place. (Tip: the departments may change from this instruction view).

Click the [[⌄ ]]to open the choices for questions with "Choose one"

Select the best option. We expect to spend more time with PI's new to the process, so its helpful to know your experience level.

Type the PI's Name in the text box

Click the [[⌄]]to open the menu and select the PI's department

Click the [[⌄ ]] and choose Yes or No, if you are planning to have Grad Students on your proposal.

Research theme codes are requested by the Office of Grants and Contracts Administration (OGCA). Select the one that best fits the type of research being conducted. (Note: The linked document offers additional context and can only be opened if you are signed into your UA profile on your browser). You can still make your best guess on the list provided.

Are their multiple UAF departments collaborating on this proposal? If Yes, select Yes for multi-department.

If you selected Yes to multi-department question, you'll be asked to provide the Lead PI's Department.

If you selected Yes to multi-department question, you'll be asked to select all the departments that may be involved on this proposal.

A Limited Submission means that the sponsor is only allowing a few submissions from UAF. If your proposal is a limited submission, the VCR office will need to coordinate who is submitting proposals.

If you selected Yes to Limited Submission, you'll need to attach documentation from the VCR at the end of this form. (ie. a PDF copy of the email).

Who is the primary contact on this project? If not the PI, you'll be prompted to provide more information.

If UAF is not the primary Lead, provide the Lead organization's name, and additional names and contact information below.

Provide a website about the announcement (Request for Proposals / Request for Quote, etc.). Or, attach information at the end of this form (if the information is only in email, for example, you can attach a PDF of that email).

Select if the project will have other UAF Co-Investigators . If yes, you'll be prompted to enter their names.

Select the Prime Sponsor (the organization ultimately funding the project ).

Is there a hard deadline for this project? Select Yes if there is a clear deadline from the sponsor or Lead organization. If No, we'll ask for a Target Date (the earliest date planned for submission).

Type the Due Date (or Target Date) into the text box or select from the calendar.

Is the Due Date within 8 business days? (Mon - Fri, excluding UAF holidays.) Enter the expected Start Date and End Date for your proposal (type or select from the Calendar). Note: The Period of Performance is the date range you would act on the work if the funding is awarded.

If this proposal budget may be over $5M, or there are 5+ departments involved, or more than 10 personnel, select Yes for a Large Proposal.

Are you ready to provide budget information? If you select Yes you will see a list of budget elements to select.

For each budget element you select, you'll be prompted to include more details.

Read the statement regarding OGCA's 5 day advance deadline, and select "I understand and accept this."

Click [[Select Files]] to attach additional documents, or Drag and Drop the files to this area.

Navigate within your folders and Click on the file you want to attach.

Fill out your name and email, and your Dean's name and email.

Click the checkbox to use electronic signature.

Enter information in the red text boxes. Click the Yellow Sign button to add your signature.

Click [[Finish. ]]The form will be emailed to your Dean at the email address you provided. OPD will get a fully-signed copy when the Dean signs it.
