QS.3.1 Add a Sales Receipt

Scenario: Dylan Sollfrank walked into Craig's shop and purchased a rock fountain with cash. Create a sales receipt to account for the sale.

Start by loading the Sample Company. [Click here to load the Sample Company.](https://qbo.intuit.com/redir/testdrive)

Now get started with the exercise.

Hover over the "Create" button and click "Sales receipt"

Click "X" to close the guided tour.

In the Customer field, select "Dylan Sollfrank"

In the Record or charge field, confirm that "Record payment" is selected. In the Payment method field, select "Cash"

Leave the Date field (which defaults to today's date) and Deposit to fields as is. Because this was a cash payment that hasn't been physically deposited into the bank account yet, it needs to be in a "holding" account for now, which is Undeposited Funds.

On the first line in the Product/Service field, select "Rock Fountain" *The rest of the information will populate on that line; you may leave this as is.*

Click "Record and close"
