Quick Node Clone: RCCL Installation and User Guide

This guide provides directions for enabling and using Quick Node Clone in Drupal RCCL. Quick Node Clone is installed, but disabled by default in RCCL. Users should read this guide completely before enabling and using Quick Node Clone. Important steps to maintain good webpage hygiene when using cloned pages are outlined in this guide.

Enabling Quick Node Clone

Click "Extend" when logged in to the Drupal RCCL CMS.

This page displays all installed and/or enabled modules. Search for "**Quick Node Clone**" and tick the check box of the "Quick Node Clone" entry.

Click the [[Install button]] at the bottom of the page.

Optional Steps for Configuring Permissions

**Permissions Configuration** By default the Administrator role can use Quick Node Clone. To manipulate the permissions of Quick Node Clone, navigate to [[{YourSite}/admin/people/permissions/module/quick_node_clone]]

Adjust the necessary permissions by selecting the role(s) that you'd like to allow to use the Clone feature. Click the[[ Save Permissions button]] at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Using Quick Node Clone

As a logged in user, navigate to the page you would like to clone.

Click "Clone" in the function menu.

After clicking clone, you will be taken to the edit screen of the cloned page.

**Important** The word "Clone" will be added to the Plain Text Title. Rename your page before publishing.

**Remember the cloned page contains all the metadata of the original page.** Use the Meta Tags tab to adjust the page title tag, meta description, and other metadata as needed.

Find "Meta tags" in the right-side menu.

Ensure the "Page title" field is suitable.

Ensure the "Description" field contains suitable information. This is what would appear as the description text if you, for example, pasted your page link into a messaging app, or find it on a Google search.

Alert: Check your URL

A cloned page may contain the word "clone" in the URL – be mindful of this and change your URL to remove the word clone when it is unwanted.

**To edit the URL,** - Open the **URL Alias tab** on the right hand menu. - Uncheck the [[Generate automatic URL alias]] box - Edit the URL of the cloned page.

Cloned pages are unpublished by default. Publish your page to make it live.

Select the "Published" option when you are ready to make the page live and save the page.
