Registering and Setting Up Your Church Portal Account

Hello Unity of Fairfax member! We're so excited to launch our portal. This step-by-step guide will show you how to set up your profile, join a group, see events, and navigate the portal.

Click: <https://unityoffairfax.onechurchsoftware.com/> to navigate to the account login.

Click "Register"

Click the "Enter email address..." field.

Before May 04, 2025, we transferred member data from another software we used in the office. If you see this notice that your account already exist, it means that: 1. We added your email already OR 2. You or a family member added you to the system already Click on "Forgot password?" to create a password for your account.

If you are not already in the system, or are not using the email we had on file for you in the past, complete all the required fields when you see this screen.

The contact preference field helps us know the best way to contact you

Click "Submit"

Go to your email, find the email from Unity of Fairfax, and click "Finish Setup"

Fill in a password that you will remember and is easy because we will use it to log into the app.

Once you are in, you will see a dashboard with sections that will show your scheduled volunteer times, groups, events from your groups and events you've registered for, and to-do tasks.

Click your name in the top right.

Click "Profile"

This is where all the data about yourself is kept. You can add or delete anything you do not wish to share. All information here is visible to the church staff. \ The public default settings only show your full name, and campus. Members of the groups you are in will additionally see your emails and phone numbers.\ \ Later, we will review the privacy settings you can set for your own profile.

If you want to add a profile image, you can do so by clicking "Update Image"

Click "Actions"

Click "Edit profile"

Add in or delete all other information at your discretion. You can add as little or as much information as you like.

We do request that you add at least one emergency contact person for the records.\ \ DO NOT PRESS SAVE YET!

Scroll to the top and click "Contact"

On this screen you can add additional emails, phone numbers, addresses, and social media if you wish.\ \ DO NOT CLICK SAVE YET!

Scroll up and click "Giving"

When we start using this system for our contributions and giving, you will have the chance to change the default fund you wish to give to.\ \ DO NOT PRESS SAVE YET!

Click "Additional"

Here you can add if you have any pets that would need to be tended to in case of an emergency.\ \ Later we will walk through how to add any medical information you may wish us to know as well.

Now you can click "Save"

Now we are going to add any family members who attend the church. This is great to do if you plan on checking in children to YFM.

Click "Relationships"

Click "Edit Household"

Click "Add Family Member"

Add in the information you wish for your family member

If adding a child or another adult who is authorized to pick-up the child, click the position field.

Click "Child" or "Authorized Pick-Up"

Though not required, we do ask that you add the birthday of children 17 and younger so we know which age-group classroom they will be in. DO NOT CLICK SAVE YET!

Scroll back to the top and click "Contact"

Make any changes here for that family member. If a child, you don't need to add anything here since we'll use your or your family manager's contact information.

At the bottom click "Save"

Here is where you can also change the relationship type to a family member.

Click the "Optional tag (i.e. parent, friend, etc.)" field to identify more precisely who the contact is in relationship to you.

Now we're going to review what you can do in the giving tab.

Click "Giving"

Once we start using this platform for giving, you will be able to see all that you have given any time you desire.

If you and your partner or spouse combine contributions, you'll be able to see it under family settings.

At the bottom you will be able to see each recorded gift given to Unity of Fairfax. Check and personally identifiable cash gifts will have a short delay as the financial team will add those in manually.

Click "Generate Statement"

Click the Transaction Period field and choose which period you'd like to get the statement for.

Click "Generate PDF" to get a downloadable and printable document whenever you wish.

Click "Info" to return to your profile info screen.

Now we will see other profile settings.

Click your name in the top right.

Click "Privacy Settings"

Here is how you can set privacy settings for your individual profile. The default settings are currently shown, but you can change anything else. The church leadership who sees all information regardless of any custom individual privacy settings are the church staff members.

Click "Use global system setting"

Click "Unlisted" to hide everything including your name from the church directory.

Once you have finished with your privacy settings, click "Save"

Click your name in the top right again

Click "Username/password"

Here you can change your username and password to log into the platform on the browser and on the mobile app.

Click "Save"

Click "Serving Availability" Once a member is in a serving position in any group, they will be able to mark any upcoming dates they won't be available.\ \ If you are not in a serving position, you will not see the calendar.

Click on a date

Choose all day or specific times of the day.

Give a reason if you'd like. Your availability will be seen by group admins or leaders if they are scheduling you for a service.

Click the X to delete an unavailable date.

Click "Preferences"

Click the "Availability field."

Chose an option.

Choosing 'Specific weeks per month" gives you these options.

Click "Save" or "Close"

Now we will go through the menu items on the left side of the screen.

Click "Contacts"

Here you will see a directory of all members - except children (identified by birth year) - who have chosen to make their profile visible to all. By default everyone's profile will show but just their name, language, and campus.

You can see your profile's full information in the list.

In the menu section, click "Groups"

Here you can see a full list of all our ministries and groups. Each ministry and group leader can determine if they require approval before someone can join the group here in the platform.

This is much easier to do on the mobile app which we will go over later.

Click "EarthCare"

This is what a group page looks like.

On the right, click "Sign Up"

When a member fills in this registration form, it will be sent via email to the ministry or group leader who can approve the request.

In the menu, click "Events"

Here you can click and see all posted and visible events. The dots in the top left of the calendar symbolize different calendar types that are visible or hidden on the events calendar -- for your own personal viewing.

In the menu, click "Forms"

This is where any public facing forms are accessible. Forms for events are in the event itself so they won't appear here.

In the menu, click "Sermons"

If and when we add sermons to the portal, they will be listed here.

In the menu, click "Service Planning"

When we begin to use this platform to schedule volunteers, you will be able to come here as ministry leaders and select a service date and add your volunteers.

In the menu, click "Serving"

Here is where members can see any "open for anyone" volunteer opportunities that are posted in additional to the dates they are scheduled to serve.

Click "Join a Team"

This shows all possible serving positions from any group that has serving positions.
